In 2017 I was commissioned by Grossi Florentino, one of Melbourne's oldest restaurants to design and install a mural for the opening of their wine bar, Arlechin. The piece was designed with the idea of family, and playfulness in mind, with the inclusion of these strange creatures fishing. The piece was drawn using a single biro pen and was enlarged and divided into fifty A1 sheets which were then pasted onto the back of Florentino, facing Arlechin.
The original artwork was scanned in high resolution by the Melbourne-based company Image Science in high resolution to make sure the image would be preserved if enlarged. Those files were then divided into 'tiles' and printed on fifty A1 Sheets. The mural was installed over two days with the help of my family and two large buckets of homemade wheat paste were used to paste all fifty sheets to the wall from bottom to top, carefully aligning each tile to form the entire picture.
